Hello friends!
I hope you had a fantastic summer. It was a joy meeting many of you in person in The Hague and in Raabs for the Working Title conference.
Today I’m excited to announce we’re rolling out some big improvements to the checkout experience. Most notably:
We’re (finally!) removing the requirement to collect phone numbers from customers
We decided to change the default behavior as we believe this will improve checkout conversions, but it’s possible to opt-in to requiring phone numbers on the new Checkout settings page (find it in “Settings” in your Fontdue dashboard). The new setting applies to both billing and licensee information.
We’re also adding a setting that allows you control whether or not to collect full billing addresses (“Address collection”). We’re leaving the default setting as-is (require full address) but you can now change the setting to “auto” – if you’ve enabled Stripe Tax, then this will tell Stripe to only collect the minimal information for tax calculations, which in many cases is just the country.
Plus more checkout improvements
Today we’re also releasing several user experience improvements to the checkout that aim to improve sales and eliminate any confusion. Please let me know if you have any feedback!
…and many more updates
We’ve released a ton of minor improvements and bug fixes since the last update in May, including the new “letter spacing” slider in the type tester as well as having an “autofit” option for each type tester. It’s also now possible to customize the appearance of the Stripe elements. More details on the What’s new page.
Until next time!
